Performing Company 2023-2024
Member, Regional Dance America/Northeast
The Performing Company of DDC is the main performance group for the school. It is comprised of serious students in Ballet level 4 and above who wish to enhance their training by engaging in performances, festivals, and community events throughout the year. Dancers who have achieve Ballet Level 4 in the Pre-professional division are invited to audition for the Company.
Delaware Dance Company believes that the experience of performing helps to cultivate excellence in technique and artistry and is necessary for the growth and development of any serious dancer. Aside from the exciting performance experiences, dancers can feel they are a part of a family of dancers. The experience gives younger dancers a chance to interact with older dancers and gives older dancers the opportunity to share their experience with new or younger members of the Company. Company members also have the unique opportunity to work with guest choreographers and master teachers in ballet as well as modern, jazz and theatre dance. These experiences are invaluable in developing their technical skills, artistry and confidence.
The Performing company has been a member of Regional Dance America/ Northeast since the 2014-2015 dance year. Regional Dance America (RDA) is a nationally recognized organization of over 90 companies, which are divided into five regions throughout the United States. RDA acts as a source of support, experience, knowledge and advice for member companies. An annual festival is held each spring for members of the Northeast region.
